Plants back in greenhouse!

Well, I have taken my temperate carnivorous plants back to greenhouse today. Weather is very good and I hope it will not freezing any more. It was a bad winter, I lost over half of my collection including all my Drosera x obovata because I can't still effectively fight against fungi and I have to say I don't have very good conditions for hibernation either. In spite of that all I don't stop being happy about the "survivors" and I will try to gain new plants for my collection. Finally some pictures of plants starting uprising from hibernation.

Drosera rotundifolia NVR 1 clone

Drosera intermedia x capillaris

Drosera anglica x filiformis

Drosera filiformis var. tracyi

Drosera filiformis "California sunset" (filiformis x tracyi)

Drosera intermedia "Coiromonte, Nowara, It"

Drosera intermedia "New Forest, Hampshire, England"

Drosera x beleziana

Drosera anglica " New Forest, Hampshire, England"

Pinguicula grandiflora

Nepenthes gracilis

This Nepenthes gracilis has very nice dark green leaves with redvine coloured midrib in the middle of the leaf. It makes pitcher quite rarely, not only in my condition but in greenhouse of Departmen of Plant Physiology where I got it from, too. However, if makes pitchers, the are quite good.

Nepenthes alata

Another of my nepenthes I value and like very much. If some unpretentious nepenthes for beginner exists, it is this Nepenthes alata from Mindanao island. I got it from experimental greenhouse of Department of Plant Physiology. It grows very fast, it makes pitchers in room humidity as well as in greenhouse, now at winter rarely indeed. My plant is now over 2m long and I am going to cut it so if you want a cutting, let me know. Nice, big pitcher green - red coloured,it likes lot of sun and it is no-problem nepenthes.

Nepenthes ramispina

This Nepenthes ramispina originaly comes from Borneo Exotics, I bought her on EEE in Prague as the size S. Although it now looks quite good, I have had a problems with this plants repeatedly. It always stopped growing and lost almost all leaves. I replanted it again and again when this happened and after 2-4 weeks it started to grow again. The roots are really weak, weaker than of nepenthes generally , and I still dont know what can I ecpect from this nepenthes. Plants in natural habitat have brighter leaves, as I saw on pictures of plants in habitat. It grows in really very lightsome habitats among stones and etc, which is a little unusually habitat for most of nepenthes. I don't think that the humidity here is very high. That´s why I want to try to place it to my greenhouse for dioneas and droseras in summer to confirm if this nepenthes really needs "only" very sunny place and "only" occasionaly higher humidity.

Nepenthes macfarlanei

Ok, this species is wonderfull. I would say that many people underrestimate this tropical pitcher plant. The pitchers are really nice and it doesn´t matter if it makes a juvenile or adult pitchers. It took me quite long time to make her bigger than "štítkovka", but now it´s growing well and new leaf are always relativelly wider than the previous one. I have to say that this is one of the nicest species I have and I really like the habitus of this nepenthes. So there is Nepenthes macfarlanei.

Nepenthes spathulata

Last week I took some pictures of any nepenthes, which allready grew up from "štítkovka" stadium. I will try to make more pictures and get them to my blog in future. So start with this species Nepenthes spathulata.

I consider Nepenthes spathulata to be intermediate. In my point of view this species is easy to grow. It grows relatively fast and makes quite big pitcher related to size of leaf. I had a better photos but I can´t find the cd with them, so I will put these ones here for this time. I might change them later.

Spring aspect

I took some pictures in Botanical Garden of Nature- science faculty on Wednesday when I was walking from terestrial ecosystems lesson. No doubt that the spring is coming really soon this year. There are some pictures of Pulsatilla pratensis subsp. bohemica and some other plants.

Finally picture from ending day in Litvínov I have takenn today.
